Description
These Cheesy Taco Sticks are the ultimate snack or meal, combining the flavors of tacos with a cheesy, crispy exterior. Easy to make and perfect for parties, game nights, or as a fun family dinner, they’re a treat everyone will love!
Ingredients
6 flour tortillas (soft)
1 lb ground beef (or chicken, turkey, or beans for a vegetarian option)
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning mix)
1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend)
1/4 cup salsa (optional)
1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
Cook the filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef (or chicken) until browned. Add taco seasoning and stir to combine. Add a bit of water if needed to create a smooth sauce.
Assemble the sticks: Lay a tortilla flat, then spoon a small amount of the cooked taco filling into the center. Top with shredded cheese. Roll up tightly, folding in the sides to keep the filling inside.
Cook the taco sticks: You can either bake or fry the taco sticks.
Baking: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the taco sticks on a baking sheet, brushing them lightly with olive oil or melted butter. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Frying: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry the taco sticks for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Let the taco sticks cool slightly and serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.
Notes
Feel free to swap ground beef for chicken, turkey, or even beans for a vegetarian option.
Make sure not to overstuff the taco sticks—this helps them hold together better.
Add a sprinkle of cheese on top of the taco sticks before baking for an extra cheesy layer.
For extra flavor, try adding sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of chili powder to the filling.
