Description

Indulge in the comfort of a hearty breakfast with this Easy Biscuits and Gravy Casserole. Buttery, flaky biscuits are smothered in a rich, creamy sausage gravy, all baked to perfection in one dish. Perfect for family breakfasts, brunches, or anytime you need a satisfying, crowd-pleasing meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of biscuits (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 lb ground sausage (halal or turkey sausage, based on preference)

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 eggs (optional, for binding)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Biscuits: Bake the biscuits according to the package instructions or your homemade recipe. Once baked, cut them into chunks and set aside.

  • Cook the Sausage: In a skillet, brown the ground sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Ensure it’s fully cooked.

  • Make the Gravy: Stir the flour into the cooked sausage, then slowly add milk while stirring constantly. Allow the mixture to thicken, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Assemble the Casserole: In a greased casserole dish, layer the biscuit chunks. Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits, ensuring they’re evenly coated. Optionally, pour beaten eggs over the casserole and sprinkle cheese on top.

  • Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can make this casserole ahead of time by assembling it the night before and baking it the next morning.

  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the gravy.

  • Make sure the sausage is browned well to ensure great flavor in the gravy.

  • If you’re using store-bought biscuits, you can opt for a high-quality brand for better taste.
