Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small red onion, finely diced
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 fresh jalapeños, diced (optional)
- 1 small bunch cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 2 limes
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 small tomato, diced
- Optional: ½ cup roasted corn (for variation)
- Optional: ¼ cup diced mango (for sweetness)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large bowl.
- Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency—smooth or slightly chunky.
- Add the lime juice, cilantro, onion, garlic, and jalapeños (if using). Mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the diced tomato, corn, or mango if desired.
- Give the guacamole one final stir and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, vegetables, or as a topping for tacos.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, mash the avocados more thoroughly.
- To prevent browning, cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface or refrigerate.
- Add a dash of smoked paprika or cumin for extra flavor depth.
