Ingredients
- 3 ripe Hass avocados
- 1 small white onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño or serrano pepper, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
- 1 small Roma tomato, diced (optional)
- 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Mash the Avocados
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Mash with a fork for a chunky texture or use a mortar and pestle for an authentic feel.
2️⃣ Add Lime Juice & Salt
- Squeeze in fresh lime juice and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Stir well to coat the avocados and prevent browning.
3️⃣ Mix in Onion, Cilantro & Peppers
- Add diced onion, chopped cilantro, and jalapeños (if using).
- Stir gently to combine.
4️⃣ Fold in Tomatoes & Garlic (Optional)
- If using, gently mix in diced tomatoes and minced garlic for extra flavor.
5️⃣ Taste & Adjust
- Add more lime juice or salt if needed.
- Let the flavors meld for 10 minutes before serving.
